Mósaík – call for test knitters!

Mósaík jumper is ready for being tested! It connects contrasting pattern colors and delicate shapes inspired by the intricate designs of mosaics. It’s knitted with 3 colors of Álafosslopi, Icelandic thick wool.

Test call info

The jumper is knitted in the round, bottom-up.

 

Deadline: 10th May 2024

 

Level: intermediate+ (in the colourwork only 2 colours are worked in the same time)

Skills needed: stranded colourwork knitting, join and knit in the round, half twisted rib, short rows, grafting

 

Sizes: XXS (XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL, 3XL, 4XL)
Chest, Length from the lower edge to underarm, Sleeve from the lower edge to underarm men’s/women’s
XXS: 86cm, 39cm, 48/44cm
XS: 92cm, 40cm, 49/45cm
S: 98cm, 41cm 49/45cm
M: 104cm, 42cm, 50/46cm
L: 107cm, 43cm, 51/47cm
XL: 110cm, 43cm, 51/47cm
XXL: 116cm, 45cm, 52/48cm
3XL: 122cm, 46cm, 53/49cm
4XL: 130cm, 47cm, 54/50cm

 

Recommended wool: Álafosslopi (100gr = 100m skeins)
If you can't or you don't want to use Álafosslopi you can replace it with another yarn with the same characteristics (100gr = 100m skeins) and that meets the gauge. 
Knit a sample in a round and change your needles size if needed. 

 

Wool quantity:
Col A [main colour] 0054 ash 5 (6, 6, 7, 7, 8, 8, 9, 10)
Col B 1233 space blue 1 (1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1)
Col C 1236 burnt orange 1 (1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1)
Note that these are estimated amounts. You may need one less or one more skein of the main colour.

Gauge: Álafosslopi 10 × 10cm = 13 sts and 18 rows in st st on 6mm needles

 

Needles and materials: 4.5mm and 6mm circular needles 40 and 80cm, 4.5mm and 6mm double pointed needles, tapestry needle, stitch holder or scrap yarn
 

By applying you accept he following requirements:
→   you will finish and block the sweater until the deadline
→   the test knit and will be hold in English, the main mean of communication is a dedicated Instagram group conversation (taking part in the Instagram group is not obligatory)
→   you will record the amount of wool in each colour in grams (I recommend using a kitchen scale)
→   you will provide the answers in the feedback questionnaire, provided together with the instructions
→   you will buy the yarn and keep the sweater, I allow selling the final product if the name of the pattern and the designer is mentioned in the description. You can also get 1 of my other patterns for free as a small gift for you participation
→   you will send the pictures of the finished sweater on person, you don't have to show your face. Your photos will be used in social media and for promotion purposes but won't be used in the pattern pdf. Other types of photos (work in progress etc.) are appreciated but not obligatory
